HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - State officials in Connecticut said they won’t let the special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children go under during the ongoing government shutdown.

It’s better known as “WIC,” and provides support thousands of pregnant women, new moms, and young children, but money is expected to run out soon.

It’s really important that if you have questions, to get the right information and so that is directly from the source.”

Governor Ned Lamont announced the state will cover the costs of the program
