Authorities in northeastern Minnesota apprehended a man on Tuesday, two weeks after he walked away from a work farm near Duluth.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested 40-year-old Michael Todd Hart at a home in Cohasset — about 65 miles from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center, where Hart had escaped from on Sept. 23.

Hart “refused to exit the stairwell. Pepper ball was deployed at Hart which led to him being placed into custody,” the sheriff’s office reported in a news release. “Hart remained uncooperative after being placed in handcuffs and assaulted deputies on scene.”
