SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Savannah Children's Theatre announced that they purchased the Star Castle property Wednesday after not having a home for nearly nine months.

The building that SCT rented for 20 years was deemed uninhabitable after a winter storm that caused massive damage to the roof, WSAV first reported in January. A few months later, SCT spoke exclusively with WSAV about how they were hoping to raise $500,000 for a place to call their own.

Star Castle, a Savannah staple, closed down in July after 40 years in business. They served as the only skating rink in the Savannah area, WSAV reported in May.
