Evan Harris Komito died on Oct. 7, 2025.

He was a loving and attentive husband, a caring and thoughtful father and stepfather, and an adoring grandfather. He battled Parkinson’s disease for many years.

Evan was born 1947, and raised in Cleveland Heights, the fourth of five children of Morton and Fay (Sobel) Komito, along with siblings Sharon Smith, Vicki Cantor, Gail Warshaw (deceased) and Ron (Mary) Komito.

He was among the first students to attend Milliken Elementary School and later attended Monticello Middle School and Cleveland Heights High School. He graduated in 1965 and went on to study mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

His passion for problem-solving led him into the new field of computer science and engineering and a long career that began with punch cards
