PHOENIX (AZFamily) — In an era dominated by smartphones, tablets and computers, an old form of technology is making a comeback.

According to an article from Parents.com , some parents are replacing phone screens with landlines. Some parents say by using landlines, it’s helping their families stay connected without increasing kids’ screen time and comes with less online risks. Other parents suggested using landlines as a stepping stone toward cellphones.

“A landline doesn’t have to be a landline. Really, the goal and the point of it is that it’s a centralized phone that’s out in front of everyone.
