BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the ruling in the defamation case against a Livingston Parish Public School librarian.

In July 2022, Amanda Jones spoke at a board meeting opposing placing restrictions on book content. After the board meeting, Director of Citizens for a New Louisiana, Michael Lunsford, and Operator of Bayou State of Mind, Ryan Thames, made statements online accusing Jones of "advocating teaching a certain sexual act to 11-year-olds."

By August 2022, Jones filed a lawsuit against Thames and Lunsford for damages and injunctive relief, claiming they were liable for her defamatory posts.
