LOWELL, Mich. — Apple season is coming to an end across West Michigan as harvesting is underway.

All of West Michigan has experienced challenging weather conditions this summer, primarily in the form of drought.

Some areas in West Michigan are even under severe drought as we approach the middle of October.

This prolonged period without rainfall has had implications for crops and vegetation, including apple orchards.

Railside Orchards in Lowell has faced challenges this apple season, but they continue to remain optimistic as they harvest.
