Mel Owens’ season of The Golden Bachelor is underway and we’re all looking for clues to figure out who he picks as his winner.

Owens, a 66-year-old lawyer and a retired NFL linebacker from Laguna Hills, California, got off to a rocky start as the second Golden Bachelor ahead of the September 29 premiere after claiming on a podcast that he would be “cutting” any women over 60.

After apologizing to the women in the first episode of his season, many of whom were indeed over 60, Mel got to work, developing early connections with Cheryl and Debbie.
