Publix employees say open carry will be allowed in stores per Fla. law

Publix Super Markets will allow the open carry of guns by customers in its nearly 900 stores across Florida, according to media reports and store managers.

The original law in Florida limiting open carry was declared unconstitutional on Sept. 10 by the First District Court of Appeal in North Florida, and the state Attorney General James Uthmeier declared on Sept. 11 open carry was now the law in Florida. In the following weeks, many sheriff’s statewide said they would no longer enforce the law.
