While an investigation concluded RCMP officers might have acted improperly in fatally shooting a man in Strathmore on Christmas Day, 2022, Crown prosecutors have elected not to charge them.

Investigators with the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team concluded there were grounds to believe the two Mounties acted unreasonably when they gunned down a violent man who confronted them at a gas station in the town east of Calgary.

That finding led them to refer the case to the Alberta Crown Prosecutors’ Service to determine if charges should be laid.
