HOUSTON – Beloved Houston restaurant Kim Son has announced it will close its longtime downtown location on Jefferson Street later this month due to the I-45 expansion project.
In a heartfelt message posted to Instagram, the restaurant said its final day of service will be Oct. 12, 2025, marking the end of more than four decades serving Houston diners.
“After serving the Houston community for over four decades, Kim Son Jefferson will be saying goodbye on October 12, 2025, due to the I-45 expansion project,” the statement read. “Our journey began at Kim Son on Pease St. in 1982 and continued on Jefferson since 1993.”
