WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — One man is dead and another remains hospitalized after a shooting early Sunday morning in West Haven, police say.

Officers arrived at the 200 block of Saw Mill Road around 2 a.m. after multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the area. The shooting happened in the parking lot of Two Thirteen Bar & Grill.

One of the victims, 41-year-old Jose Miguel Avila, sustained three gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The second victim is in stable condition and remains hospitalized, police said on Wednesday.
