OHIO — Google is backing a new bill at the statehouse that’s looking to help parents protect their kids online.

House Bill 302 would force app stores and developers to verify the age of anyone who downloads an app, and make kids get permission from their parents.

Kate Charlet leads Google’s global team for cybersecurity, privacy and child safety and testified for the bill on Wednesday.
