Dozens of Penfield parents sat through the mundane business of an hour-long school board meeting Oct. 7, only to find out school officials scrapped the public comment section from the meeting and would not allow them to speak.

It was the first school board meeting since parents learned the district and police were investigating a Penfield High School student for making threatening posts on social media, and they showed up in droves with security concerns and questions.
