Solar Alberta has released their annual report card showing how well many major Albertan cities are incentivizing solar power within their communities.
Edmonton was the only city to be above 50%, and dominated the rest of the field with a 67% score on the report card — over 20% higher than the next highest rated group.
Edmonton scored a three out of four in ambition and accountability, a total of 13 of the 15 incentives points which included rebates and low-interest loans, but faltered slightly on the policies front, scoring just three of the potential 10 points. With an additional point for education, that brought Edmonton to a score of 20/30, or 67%.
The second place was a three-way tie between Banff, Calgary and Grande Prairie, all scoring 14 out of 30 points, coming out to 46%.
