Outer Banks Presbyterian Church holds 3rd annual Blessing of the Animals

If it wasn’t for JoJo, Craig Peele wouldn’t have known what to do when his wife passed away. Tears rolled down his face at the Blessing of the Animals at the Outer Banks Presbyterian Church in Kill Devil Hills on Sunday, Oct. 5 as he expressed the comfort his pet offered him since his loss seven months ago.

Hugging JoJo close to his heart, the chihuahua and Boston Terrier mix was one of more than a dozen dogs waiting to receive a blessing from transitional paster Reverend Jeff Sockwell who was praying one at a time over a wide variety of dog breeds.

“We believe in how God blesses all of creation, “says Sockwell.”
