AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - College football is returning to Lucy Craft Laney Stadium in Augusta in the form of the Good Trouble Heritage Football Classic.

The meeting brings two HBCU football programs to the epicenter of the CSRA.

This year’s matchup features Fort Valley State University and Savannah State University, bringing back a tradition that hasn’t been held in the city for years.

For Laney head coach Ronnie Baker, it will be his first time watching the classic rather than coaching in it.

“I coached at Benedict College when we played here in the classic back in 2016, and I also coached with Albany State when we came up and played in the classic here.”

Keeping the event at the Boulevard wasn’t a hard decision.
