The man who was shot by Toledo police Tuesday morning died the same day and was identified Wednesday by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

Zachary Reed, 22, was shot in a parking lot at 3100 Airport Hwy., in Toledo after police said he pointed a gun at officers.

Police responded just after 7 a.m. when an individual at the Scott Park District Station requested law enforcement assistance to remove an armed person from his apartment. At the apartment complex on Brookview Drive, police saw the suspect leaving an apartment. The person fled, and eventually crashed a vehicle in the parking lot on Airport Highway, a TPD spokesman said Tuesday.
