Regular stops for South Floridians, such as grocery stores and retailers, are figuring out their approach to Florida's new open carry gun law .

Floridians can now officially openly carry firearms in the state. On Sept. 10, a panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal overturned a 1987 law that made it a misdemeanor to visibly display guns.

But with some confusion over the open carry law, some major grocery store chains in our area are letting their policies be known.

Here's where some retailers stand:

Walmart

Many Walmart stores sell guns, mostly for sport and hunting, but they’ve had a long-standing policy at their stores that no open carry is allowed.
