Local school boards have significant impact and authority over the lives of our children.

Not only are these boards charged with implementing the state education curriculum and coursework, they also determine the degree of which students receive assistance for various educational and social needs, the number and types of elective courses available, extracurricular activities, whether they get free breakfast or lunch, even the time they get picked up and dropped off from school. The boards also negotiate contracts that ultimately determine the quality and quantity of the educators who stand before these students every day in their classrooms. The effect of school boards on our kids can’t be understated.
