The work of Santa Barbara-based artist Paulo P. Lima, Ph.D., will be on display at Allan Hancock College’s Ann Foxworthy Gallery starting Monday, Oct. 13.

The showcase and exhibition entitled Dreams and Revelations, available for public viewing through Dec. 4, will open with an artist reception on Oct. 17 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the gallery.

Lima will also participate in an artist talk on Nov. 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the college’s Fine Arts Complex . Both events are free and open to the public.

Born in Brazil, Lima began his career designing costumes for theater before moving into the visual arts. His work spans sculpture, painting, photography and mixed media, transforming recycled and found objects into art that celebrates memory, ancestry and cultural identity.
