BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Coroner's Office identified a man who was struck by a vehicle on Taft Highway in September.

Coroner officials said Victoriano Corona Pineda, 72, was struck by a vehicle in the 3100 block of Taft Highway on Sept. 16 around 7:33 p.m. Pineda was transported to Kern Medical where he was pronounced dead on Sept. 17.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating this incident.

Police told 17 News the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Preliminary investigation showed Pineda entered the roadway outside of the crosswalk.
