LEESVILLE, La. (KALB) - A scathing lawsuit initially filed on September 25, alleged the City of Leesville, the entire city council and Vernon Parish Police Juror Curtis Clay committed several constitutional and ethical violations related to a voluntary petition for the annexation of private land.

The Plaintiffs, Logan Morris, CEO for the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. Jeremy Draper, accuse the city of:

Illegal, discriminatory gerrymandering

Violating their rights to due process and equal protection (Amendments 1 & 14)

Violating U.S. and Louisiana public records law

Intentionally and ‘systemically’ deny their rights to engage in politics

Charging ‘additional utility costs’
