SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - With election day less than four weeks away, the League of Women Voters offered the public a chance to question candidates for the Sioux City Community School Board, and Sioux City City Council.

Wednesday night’s candidate forum started with the seven candidates for the school board.

Panelists, and the public, asked school board candidates about their involvement in the district, and their position on a policy to send families, with unpaid lunch debts, to collections.

Candidates also answered questions about how they will address mental health and student challenges outside of the classroom.

The President of League of Women Voters says forums, like this one, are important to keep the community informed.
