A 77-year-old Green Bay man was arrested after being suspected of wielding a knife and injuring two people, police say.

Green Bay police said the incident took place just before 5:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Basten Street, near Danz Park, in response to a report of a person with a weapon.

Officers found two Green Bay men, ages 18 and 56, with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The men told police that a man with multiple weapons fled into a nearby wooded area. In response, Green Bay police deployed the SWAT team.

The 77-year-old man was taken into custody following an attempt to flee officers near North Danz Avenue and Basten Street, according to police.

Police said streets in the area were closed but have since reopened.
