RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- Microsoft has stepped back from its plans to build a data center in Caledonia.
A Microsoft spokesperson said the company is not moving forward with the project after hearing community feedback.
According to our Milwaukee affiliate , some Caledonia residents formed a coalition to oppose the plan and voiced their concerns during village meetings and information sessions.
Following Microsoft's decision not to pursue the location, it is unclear how village officials will proceed with the pending rezoning.
Microsoft is continuing development of its data center in nearby Mount Pleasant.
