SPEEDWELL, Tenn. — A family in Speedwell is spending another night in their workshop after a fire destroyed their home over the weekend.
Kara Inman, the homeowner, said the fire consumed more than 30 years of family memories in a matter of hours.
"It was football Saturday. Tennessee was off, we were watching football," Inman said. "Had a roast on cooking it, done a load of laundry, washed three of the dogs, had the two big dogs to go."
She and Chris, her son, noticed the smell of smoke around 3 P.M. Chris stepped outside and saw smoke on the roof above their bathroom.
Kara, 61, said the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, but firefighters with the Speedwell Volunteer Fire Department told her that electrical wires might have sparked parts of a bird nest that had been built in an ex
