BLUFFDALE — One person is dead, and all eastbound lanes of Bangerter Highway are closed near 2700 West in Bluffdale after a motorcycle crashed into a concrete barrier Wednesday evening.
Just after 7 p.m., a motorcycle was getting onto the eastbound ramp to Bangerter Highway when it collided with a cushioned concrete barrier, according to Lt. Mike Alexander of the Utah Highway Patrol.
Alexander said the motorcyclist, who was the only one on the bike, died of their injuries.
The eastbound lanes of the highway are shut down as the crash is investigated and cleared.
Alexander didn't give an estimate of how long traffic would be impacted, but he said crews will be in the area for several hours and drivers should expect delays.
