SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Wednesday, the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls held a gathering for a special announcement.

Funding for the new education center has helped the zoo secure another piece of its ultimate goal.

With Midco as the sponsor, the new education center will bear the name of the company’s former president, who passed away earlier this year, Joe H. Floyd.

A total gift of $2 million has zoo staff excited about what they can provide with this new space.

Joe H. Floyd gave more than money. He served as a longtime board member at the zoo, among countless groups across the area.
