MADISON, Wis. — Healthcare premiums could increase for Wisconsin residents if premium tax credits expire at the end of the year, according to Congressman Mark Pocan, who spoke at the state Capitol today about the Affordable Care Act.
Pocan's comments came as the government shutdown continues, with disagreements over Medicaid cuts and healthcare subsidies preventing Congress from passing a funding bill.
The congressman emphasized that healthcare remains a top priority for his constituents, far outweighing concerns about the government shutdown.
