Brian Walshe, who allegedly killed, dismembered his wife, has ‘continuing trauma’ from jailhouse stabbing, lawyers say

Brian Walshe , the Cohasset man who allegedly killed and dismembered his wife in 2023 , has suffered “continuing trauma ” from a jailhouse stabbing attack last month, his lawyers said Monday as they successfully sought a delay to his trial, which had been scheduled to begin Oct. 20.

In seeking the postponement in Norfolk Superior Court, Walshe’s lawyers wrote that he “has maintained employment within the [Dedham] jail and established a respectful and friendly rapport with jail staff and fellow inmates.”

But on Sept. 11, Walshe was “attacked and stabbed multiple times by another inmate,” at the jail, his lawyers wrote. “This attack was completely unprovoked. The defendant never had any previous interaction with his attacker.”
