A suspect was arrested for allegedly shooting a man several times in Riverside County.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Edward Cuenca, 43, of Chino Hills, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 8, deputies responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon near the 49000 block of Seminole Drive in Cabazon around 2:11 p.m.

Deputies found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. He was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The gunman had fled the scene.

Authorities later identified Cuenca as the suspected shooter and located him near Seminole Drive and Malki Road where he was taken into custody.

No further details, including whether the suspect and victim were known to each other, were released.
