There are big babies and then there is Cassian.

The newborn from the US has become a viral sensation after weighing in at a whopping 5.8kgs (12lb 14oz) at birth.

His proud mum, Shelby Martin, set the internet on fire after sharing a series of images of herself pregnant in a hospital gown and Cassian soon after he was born.

Alongside the post on TikTok that has been liked more than 4.2 million times, she wrote, “When people talk about having a big baby like idk ball. But trust me I know ball”.

Predictably, her followers are having some fun in the comment section.

With huge chubby cheeks, double chin and fat rolls on his arms and legs, Cassian broke hospital records when he arrived at Nashville’s TriStar Centennial Women’s Hospital in September.
