Porsche Crashes on Mumbai Highway, Driver Injured
A late-night accident on Mumbai's Western Express Highway has left a Porsche car severely damaged and its driver critically injured. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday near Gundavali Metro Station. Eyewitnesses reported that the Porsche was allegedly racing a BMW when it lost control and crashed into the central divider.
Visuals from the scene show the blue Porsche mangled, with its front section completely destroyed. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Neo Sauns from Mira Road, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is reported to be serious.
While initial accounts suggested that both luxury cars were speeding and racing, Mumbai Police later clarified that no official racing activity had been confirmed prior to the crash. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and witness statements to determine the exact cause of the accident.
In a separate incident earlier this week, a car driven by 29-year-old Frashogar Batiwalla plunged into the sea from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link after he allegedly lost control while under the influence of alcohol. Batiwalla was rescued with minor injuries and has been booked for drunk driving.
The recent Porsche crash has reignited concerns about high-speed racing on Mumbai's roads, particularly during late-night hours. Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations into the incident.
