The benchmark indices traded marginally higher in early trade on Thursday, with the Nifty 50 gaining 7 points or 0.03 per cent to 25,053.15, while the Sensex remained nearly unchanged at 81,772.08, down just 1.58 points. The market opened on a cautious note as investors awaited the start of the second-quarter earnings season, with TCS set to announce its results later in the day.

“The results season starting today will be keenly watched by the market,” said Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments Limited. “IT stocks have witnessed some recovery from the bottom, but the headwinds for the segment continue to be strong.”
