A 45-year-old fire officer at a private firm was killed after his motorcycle collided with a Thar SUV in Dwarka while he was coming back from his office in Shalimar Bagh early Tuesday, the Delhi Police said Wednesday.

The police said the Thar driver, a resident of Dwarka, has been arrested.

According to the police, the accident happened at 12 am on Tuesday, when the deceased, Ashish, was crossing the Park Royal Apartment in Sector-9, Dwarka, on his Bajaj Platina motorcycle.

A police officer said they received a PCR call at around 12 am Tuesday regarding a road traffic accident in front of Park Royal Apartments involving a Mahindra Thar and a Bajaj Platina motorcycle. The officer said that they received the information from the hospital where Ashish was taken.
