A boy was injured after a truck crashed into a gelato shop in Encinitas on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The incident happened at Gelato 101, located at 480 South Coast Highway 101, just before 6 p.m. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the truck collided with another vehicle before crashing into the shop.
The child was taken to the hospital with a broken arm and scratches, SDSO said. Officials did not provide the boy's age.
Video from the scene shows multiple SDSO deputies and firefighters with the Encinitas Fire Department surrounding the black truck, as well as a white car that was involved in the collision. Authorities said the driver of that vehicle was not injured.
