FLINT – As expected, third-ranked Goodrich earned a Division 3 girls golf regional championship at Flint Elks Golf Club.

Macomb Lutheran North and Pontiac Notre Dame Prep will join the Martians at the big party.

All three advance to the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 3 state finals Oct. 17-18 at Forest Akers-West on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.

The top three teams and the top three individuals not on the top three teams, all qualify for the state finals out of each region.

Goodrich put together a play-five, count-four team score of 354 to earn the title by six strokes. Seventh-ranked Lutheran North finished second with a 362, while unranked Notre Dame Prep also made the cut (377) with its third-place finish.
