LAWRENCE — The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Wednesday, Oct. 8, that Ray Bechard has been selected as a member of its Hall of Fame class of 2025.

Bechard retired as Kansas women’s volleyball’s head coach after the 2024 season, following more than two decades leading the team. He is the Jayhawks program’s winningest coach, as he also took it to 13 NCAA tournaments, three Sweet 16 appearances and a Final Four.

“I am truly humbled with this honor, especially coming from the coaches’ organization,” Bechard said in a KU release. “The AVCA has been a great platform for all coaches in the sport. Like any award, this is not about me but all the players, coaches, and staff that I have worked with throughout my career. I have been so blessed to have the support of my family
