The Sept. 10 entry in Rick Warren’s “Daily Hope Devotional” that I’m reading this year was titled, “Look for Ways to Bring People Together.” Warren started that day’s reading with 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, which starts out, “(God) has restored our relationship with him through Christ and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.” (God’s Word translation).

Warren says that in all kinds of relationships — from those with ex-spouses to encounters with people who disagree with us culturally or politically — God wants Christians to “disagree without being disagreeable.” He writes that often, we can’t resolve issues, but we still can have reconciliation, meaning we’re “at peace with each other.”
