Time! Time is on my mind today. Perhaps it is because of my age, which most people would deem to be the sunset years of my life and ministry. Last week I had completed my research for today’s writing, noting that it was the anniversary of the first mention of Prague’s astronomical clock way back in 1410. This is the oldest clock in the world that displays, along with the time, the positions of the sun and moon — and though almost six centuries old, it is still in working order. Then on Sunday, our pastor addressed the topic of the Christian use of time as his sermon.
I attribute the coincidence to be a “God wink” experience. Thus, time is on my brain.
None of us has to be reminded of the limitations of our time here in this life. If it is given to us, we will enjoy a normal life span (78
