Pennsylvania State Police say the troopers were hospitalized in critical and serious condition after Wednesday’s shooting. They had responded to a theft call at a sporting goods store and pursued a vehicle that was stopped by spike strips. Two women came out of the vehicle, but police say a man inside began shooting at the troopers. They returned fire, killing him. The shooting happened in southern Franklin County, which is northwest of Baltimore.
