KENOVA — Help bring this year’s Pumpkin House display to life by volunteering in the coming weeks.
Volunteers of all ages can help out with scooping, carving and more by contacting Ric Griffith, owner and creator of the Pumpkin House in Wayne County.
He said volunteers do not need to bring anything, but they are encouraged to wear older clothes due to the messy nature of the work and bleach being used to rinse the pumpkins.
He said he is expecting that this year’s display will have 3,000 pumpkins, which have been grown by Jason and Tab Ekers at their Rocky Knob Farm in Prichard.
Griffith said generally about 1,500 people a year volunteer with the Pumpkin House, and it is “blessed with many schools, churches, youth groups and other groups coming each year … on a regular basis” to help
