ASHEBORO, N.C. — UPDATE (10:17 a.m.): One person is dead after being hit by a car on US 220 in Asheboro, according to Randolph County EMS.
EMS said it was not a hit-and-run, but the pedestrian did die on the scene.
UPDATE: All lanes are back open.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The northbound lane of US 220 is closed from McDowell Road to Nolan Avenue in Asheboro.
The closure is from an early morning crash on Fayetteville Street. WFMY News 2 has confirmed emergency services are at the scene, but we're working to find out if there are any injuries.
