CHICO — Chico State Enterprises is in the process of taking over operations of North State Public Radio.
Chico State Enterprises is a nonprofit corporation that “operates on behalf of the university to advance its educational mission and vision,” according to the organization’s website.
The move comes after CapRadio announced plans to cut ties with NSPR and its other Northern California station in Arcata. CapRadio announced the decision in June, citing financial struggles with running the two stations, according to an article on its website.
“This transition brings NSPR closer to our listeners and, if done right, gives us the support and freedom our team needs in this critical moment,” said NSPR Director of Content Sarah Bohannon in a statement.
