Biogen says it’s pledging $250,000 to support a new life-sciences center in collaboration with Durham Technical Community College — funds the company hopes will expand the pool of workers qualified for a growing number of biopharma jobs in the region.

The donation from Biogen and the Biogen Foundation is expected to support Durham Tech’s new Novo Nordisk Life Sciences Center. It seeks to fund a lab hall anchored by the BioWork Lab, which enables learners to earn manufacturing certifications and transition to biopharma manufacturing jobs.
