Singer turned actress Mandy Moore says she feels “really, really lucky” to have risen to fame as a teen before the social media era changed the landscape of celebrity life.

Speaking at a Q&A alongside actress Storm Reid during an event, the This Is Us actress reflected on the rare balance she was able to maintain between stardom and a normal adolescence.

“I feel really, really lucky, because I was still able to be a regular 15-year-old and have this incredible job and opportunities that I never could have fathomed, but I’m still able to be a kid,” Moore, 41, said.

“I could go to the mall, I could go to amusement parks, I could go to the homecoming dance at my old school with my friends,” she added.
