Three students from E.E. Smith High School were killed in a single-vehicle wreck Oct. 8 in Fayetteville, according to a statement from Cumberland County Schools.
The accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Rosehill Road, not far from the Food Lion at the intersection with Country Club Drive
According to police, four people were in a vehicle that ran off the road and struck a telephone pole. Three of the occupants died at the scene and one person was flown to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill in critical condition. Police did not release the names of the individuals.
