Oswego, N.Y. — The first on-track racing for Super DIRT Week 53 occurred Wednesday night at the Oswego Speedway when a record field of 98 DIRT car 358 modifieds ran their time trials and heat races for Friday night’s Salute to the Troops 150 feature race.

Wednesday afternoon’s time trial session for DIRT car 358 modifieds locked in the top six qualifiers for Friday’s 150-lap race. Matt Sheppard was the quickest and this Savannah racer picked up a $1,000 bonus for his pole run.

Watertown’s Billy Dunn secured the outside pole and he collected a $750 check for his effort. Matt Janczuk was the third guaranteed starter, followed by Alex Payne, Jessica Friesen, and Matt Stangle in the top six.
