A 20-year-old Buff alo State University student was in stable condition in Erie County Medical Center earlier this week after a shooting Saturday in the vicinity of 30 E. Amherst St. near Main Street, a Buff alo police spokesman reported.

According to the report, the male student was struck in the arm just before 2 a.m. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

The spokesman said initial reports indicated that the student and a friend were confronted by a group of people during a party and the dispute escalated outside, where shots were fired.

An investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Buff alo Police Department confidential tip line at 716-847-2255.
